Greg Smith the owner of Garden
Studio, Inc. started in the photography business in 1969. He worked 5 years
for a very large photography company in St. Louis, Missouri photographing
weddings and portraits. In 1974 Greg and his wife Diann opened Garden Studio.
Greg and his staff of photographers photographed 100-150 weddings a year for
20 years. They also photographed
children, families, high school seniors and pets. In 1985 Greg & Diann bought a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
and began showing dogs. Wedding photography
got in the way of dog showing so they gave up wedding work. The emphasis soon shifted to Pet
portraits. They were setting up
portrait booths at the dog shows as well as doing doing portraits in people’s
homes, location work and in their studio.
Then when the great dog show photographer Don Petrulis retired, the
emphasis changed to Dog Show Photography.
Don & Nancy were an inspiration to us, and we thank them for their
